CHICAGO– Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Scott Thompson on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on July 8th, 2021, reviewing the latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Black Widow,” in theaters and streaming on Disney+ Premium Access on July 9th.

Now you may say, if you are a Marvel Cinematic Universe geek, didn’t Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Scarlett Johannson) die in “Avengers Endgame”? You would be right … but this film takes place after the events of “Captain America Civil War.” Despite that bit of confusion, the film takes a deep dive into the origins of the superhero, including her parents (David Harbour and Rachel Weisz) and sister Yelana (Florence Pugh). It is revealed that Natasha’s genetic superiority was exploited in her youth, and her disgust regarding that programming is the challenge she must face, as well as a reunion with her sister and parents.
